Levitating Ripplepublic art

Created in 2020, Levitating Ripple is a series of six sculptural art benches located in Gatineau, QC. Located adjacent to the mighty Chaudière falls, these pieces were inspired by the ripples of water pooling on rock. In using this imagery, I aspire to create a place of contemplation, to understand the importance of this sacred area for the Algonquin people, and to regard the power of nature around us. The rocks have been excavated from this area, linking us directly with the long history of this site. The concept of the ripple, speaks to the idea of reverberations, and the impact of our actions as humans on our shared history, as well as on our society and the environment.

A special thanks to my fabrication team and the great team at Zibi developments.
